May 7th, 2007—- The mobile industry trade body report more than 500,000 mobile websites registered in 104 countries with the .mobi top level domain.
June 29th, 2007—- Apple introduces the Iphone in the US. Smartphones become the prime driver of mobile internet growth.
July 5th, 2007—- 1-800-Flowers launches mobile website showing leadership in the U.S. retail industry
July 9th, 2007– Helsinki Tourism Board mobile website trial leads to availability of more than 650 “reserved” city names for developing relevant consumer content.
October 22,2007—- The Sun, Britain’s most popular newspaper launches mobile website.
Janurary 15, 2008—- the massive image-sharing site Photobucket annouces the debut of its mobile web site.
Janurary 31st, 2008—- American Airlines launches mobile website allowing travellers to check thier flight status.
February 12, 2008 – Award – Winning Music Artist Tim McGraw Launches Mobile Site
April 1, 2008 - 798 Million mobile internet users
July 10, 2008—- The mobile web reaches a critical mass of users according to Nielsen Mobile.
July 29, 2008—- Red Cross Society of China launches official Mobile Site
August 19, 2008—- Polo Ralph Lauren launches world’s first luxury mobile commerce site
October 10, 2008—- One million registered mobile websites with the .mobi top level domain.
November 5th, 2008—- Best Western International Mobile Website Launches with reservation capability.
December 23, 2008—- Mobile Web Usage grows 463 percent over one year according to State of the Mobile Web Report from Opera Software.
January 28, 2009—- Financial Times mobile website launched with improved search and ability to follow stock options.
April 1st, 2009 - Travel Nevada, launches nv.mobi and marketing campaign.
May 21, 2009- Emirates Airlines launches mobile website with mobile check in service
June 4, 2009—- Microsoft introduces mobile version of popular search engine Bing.
August 18, 2009—- Forrester Research reports The Weather Channel mobile website attracts more than 12 million unique visitors every month.
August 19, 2009—- EU allocates £15 Million to improving mobile web infrastructure to support next generation 4G mobile networks.
