(London, England)  The Saxon Boutique Hotel and Spa and World Mobi, a leading London based mobile web development firm launches thesaxon.mobi, the mobile hub of the award winning luxury property based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Head of Development for World Mobi, Kelly Footit said “Guests of The Saxon Boutique Hotel & Spa can now access resort information on their mobile phone from anywhere. If a guest has just arrived at the airport in Johannesburg and needs to arrange a spa treatment, with click to call functionality, they can easily make a reservation whilst on their way to the hotel. Thesaxon.mobi brings the resort experience into the palm of their hands”.

The mobile site can be accessed by opening your mobile phone browser and typing thesaxon.mobi into the url field. The mobile site includes information about rooms and suites, restaurants, conferencing, functions, the spa & studio, facilities, room rates, reservation and contact information as well as featuring click to call booking functionality.

Kelly Footit explained that “...the mobile web has been primarily driven by the adoption of smart phones like the Blackberry and Iphone and with the exponential growth of mobile web usage, this presents an opportunity for hoteliers to offer sales and customer service information to anyone regardless of location”.

Mobile websites are specifically designed and tailored for the internet on mobile devices and formatted for the smaller screen size. Mobile websites are therefore quicker to download and allow users to search for information with fewer clicks and scrolls. Travellers can connect to tourism suppliers from anywhere at any time on the mobile web.

Ulrike Schmidt, Sales and Marketing Director at the Saxon Boutique Hotel and Spa explained that “The Saxon’s mobile site, which includes click-to-call booking functionality and comprehensive guest information, presents an exciting new marketing channel through which we can provide our guests with uninterrupted accessibility at all times”.

According to hotelmarketing.com, hotels should make building a mobile ready website a priority this year as 67% of leisure travellers and 77% of business travellers have already used their mobile device to find local services such as lodging.

Ulrike Schmidt commenting further about the benefits of the mobile site said that “being accessible to our guests at all times is a top priority, and our mobile site provides the ideal around-the-clock service”.
