Mobile Web Development Company enters Middle East

12th of August 2009

World Mobi, the mobile web development company , is expanding its mobile services into the Middle East to enable key travel and tourism providers to maximise their online presence and reach more consumers than ever via mobile devices.

World Mobi is in talks with several leading Middle East travel and tourism companies with a view to providing mobile web services to some of these leading brands.

The mobile services provider currently operates a portfolio of travel related mobile websites, including breakingtravelnews.mobi and over 600 city guides which can be found at city.mobi. These websites provide travellers with destination information and news on their mobile phones.

Commenting on World Mobi’s expansion plans into the Middle East, Rhiannon Downie, Middle East Sales Manager, World Mobi explains: “According to the WTTC, the Middle East Travel & Tourism economy is currently ranked 6th in the world and visitors to the region are continuing to climb.

“It is therefore becoming increasingly important for Middle East hospitality and tourism providers to make their offerings available to potential customers on all communication channels, including mobile phones.”“

The Internet has changed the way the travel industry does business by empowering consumers with tools to search, plan, book and share their holidays instantaneously. The mobile Internet is a new marketing channel that is predicted to generate $150 billion by 2011.

Mobile websites are specifically designed and tailored for the Internet on mobile devices and formatted for the smaller screen size. Mobile sites are therefore quicker to download and allow users to search for information with fewer clicks and scrolls. Travellers can connect to tourism suppliers from anywhere at any time on the mobile web.

Rhiannon added: “Having a mobile web presence adds value for guests, while also being a key differentiator in today’s crowded marketplace. This service will provide the continuous flow of information that consumers have become accustomed to receiving.”

Hotels and tourism suppliers already transitioned to the mobile internet include the American Automobile Association (AAA), Amtrak, Air France, Hilton, KLM, Marriott, Renfe, SAS, Spanair, Thalys, The Weather Channel and ZAGAT Survey.
