Major African Cities Get New Mobile Service

The mobile city guides include up to date information on hotels, events, attractions, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and itinerary ideas in each city for travellers and city goers alike. Launched at the World Travel Awards Africa Ceremony in Durban on May 11th, 2009, the mobile city guide domains include the major African cities of Casablanca.mobi, Algiers.mobi, Tunis.mobi, Cairo.mobi, Yaounde.mobi, Nairobi.mobi, Windhoek.mobi, Gaborone.mobi, Joburg.city.mobi, Capetown.mobi, Durban.city.mobi, Maputo.mobi.

The new city.mobi African cities join a host of mobile related services in Africa including mobile payment systems MPESA (Kenya) and Wizzit (South Africa), citizen journalism services including Ushahidi (Kenya and South Africa) and Sokwanele (Zimbabwe), consumer activisim services with mPedigree(Ghana) and mobile agricultural services such as TradeNet (West Africa) and Manobi (Senegal).
