City.mobi Project

City.mobi is the flagship product of mobile web development company World Mobi Limited. World Mobi Limited and the City.mobi project were launched in March 2008 in a joint venture between the World Travel Group and dotMobi, the company behind the .mobi domain for mobile web content. The City.mobi project covers over 600 Mobile City Guides worldwide with premium city domain names including london.mobi, berlin.mobi, nyc.mobi, rio.mobi, sydney.mobi, capetown.mobi, cairo.mobi, tokyo.mobi, toronto.mobi, dubai.mobi and lasvegas.mobi to name a few.

Designed specifically for the needs of users on the go, the mobile city guides include up to date information on hotels, events, attractions, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and itinerary ideas in each city for travellers and city goers alike. It will source local content to ensure that the data is relevant and contextual i.e. It will ensure that the content is what the user needs when in the city and most importantly configured for their mobile phone.

It will be a worldwide service and not just restricted to certain cities. Worldmobi will also be seeking partnerships such as local mobile providers who want to take advantage of the global initiative, in order to expand the reach even further.

Representing a unique opprtunity for a mobile presence, the city.mobi project allows local businesses to add their free listing including photos, map locations, addresses, opening times, contact information, and business descriptions.
